Wuerth Cambodia Ltd. was established at the beginning of the year 2002 and was officially registered as a Single Private Company which is owned by Würth Holding Gmbh on January 08, 2002. At the mean time, all types of Wuerth Trademark protection were also included in the registration. Wuerth Cambodia Ltd. started its operation in a small premises along Russian Boulevard, Tuol Kok, Phnom Penh. The turnover in the first year was USD 20,000. From year to year, the company had showed a steady growth by achieving a sales turnover of USD 85,000 in 2004 with 9 sales representatives and 450 items in product range. Sine the start-up, the company had only one internal staff being in charge of book keeping and general administration and until the end of the year 2004, another internal staff in the warehouse was recruited.
Tino Tep had been Managing Director under supervision of Hans Sigrist, chairman of board of directors, since the founding of the company. It was really a difficult time for Wuerth Cambodia Ltd. to penetrate the market; however, everything was getting better and better when its brand was identical, staffs were so motivated with optimism and enthusiasm, and economic development was increased.
The main activity of Wuerth Cambodia Ltd. was still focused in capital city-Phnom Penh, but its operation would be expanded to provinces as cancer strategy. Wuerth Cambodia Ltd. had its core business in automotive division whereas other service and maintenance fields were equally important.
In February 2003, Prof. Dr. h. c. Reinhold Würth visited the company and Cambodia on his trip around the world. During his visit to the company, he addressed a short speech with strong motivation to all employees. It was a great honor for the whole Wuerth Cambodia Ltd.
What Wuerth (Cambodia) Ltd. has to do in the years to come is to catch up others in the Wuerth Group and more importantly to always stand strong in the market in order to grow further of course with profitability and sustainable development.
